1. Boot from Microsoft 2019 DVD (make sure DVD is in correct order in BIOS to we can boot from DVD)
2. Select to Install W2019 (note- you Will make sure NOT to actually install W2019 at a later step!) - See here for screen grabs
3. Click Next
4. do NOT click install now, but instead click on repair your computer
5. Click troubleshoot
6. Click Command line

7.     cd..
       mbr2gpt /convert
       

8. Shutdown Machine - change Vmware Boot options to use EFI instead of BIOS

Initial Inline Upgraded W2016 using MBR Partition - as outlined below

After following steps above and using W2019 Boot disk - converted boot partition from MBR to GPT

One you change to GPT partition - you must change your VM Boot options to use EFI instead of BIOS

When started up - you can see that Machine is now using GPT Partition

Secure Boot enabled via Vmware Boot Settings in ESXi
