Purpose: To facilitate a logged out phone profile with minimum config.
Example for Cisco 7841 phones

• Configure a 'Custom 7841 SIP /w Service URL' Phone Button Template for Cisco 7841 phones.
  • Change Line 4 from been a line to be a Service URL
• Configure a Softkey Template 'Logged Out Phone - Softkey Template' for Logged Out phones (Copy the standard user and remove the Fwd All option)
• Configure a Base CSS (Base_CSS)
• Configure a Internal Partition
• Configure Extension Mobility Service
• Configure a Universal Registration Template for Logged out Phone which set the correct
  • Base CSS, Logged Out Softkey Template
• Configure a Universal Line Template
  • To set the Line to the Internal Partition
• Enable Auto Registration & Assign the Universal Device and Universal Line to Cisco Unified CM (set start & end line numbers to be similar to 19990000 - 19990999)

Phones will now auto register and will be able to dial internal and emergency numbers
You will NOT be able to log into the phone. The extension mobility service could have been added as part of universal device template, but nicer not to allow it (you you know it cannot be used until phone 100% configured) and then enable via the below steps which also adds in a softkey (line 4) to with a label of “Log in”

• Bulk Admin → Phones → Update Phones - > Query
• Filter by Description Starts with “Auto” and if necessary by Phone Type (i.e. only select 7841s)
• Check 'Description' and enter “Logged Phone Desk Phone”
• Check 'Phone Button Template' and select your custom created “Custom 7841 SIP w/Service URL” Template
• Under 'Assign IP Phone Service', Check 'Add all services from this template' and select '7841 - Logged out Phone Template' created earlier.
